SERVE AS THE GROOM'S PERSONAL AIDE

First and foremost, you are the one who the Groom must be able to rely on in the weeks leading up to his big day. You must be there to assist him in his times of need and to generally keep him relaxed and happy. He may need you to lend a hand in making some of those little decisions, and so you should there as his personal aide.

HELP THE GROOM CHOOSE TUXES
As part of your job as the Best Man, you are responsible for helping the Groom to choose the perfect tuxedo for his special day. You are in charge of ensuring that he doesn’t look like a total dunce and that he looks fly in his suit! Whether he is hiring or buying outright, make sure he is suited and booted for his new adventure.

PLAN AND THROW THE STAG DO
Probably the part you are most excited to be in charge of is the all-important stag do. For definite you want to throw the best stag party to date, making sure that it is a weekend to remember. ON THE DAY

When the big day does eventually come around, you are not quite off the hook yet – some of your most important roles will come into action.

TAKE CHARGE OF THE RINGS
If the Bride and Groom haven’t chosen a ring bearer, then the rings will be placed under your care. It is extremely important that you store them in a safe place up until the wedding, and also during the ceremony. Be sure not to lose them, you don’t want an angry Bride and Groom on your back!

SIGN THE MARRIAGE LICENSE
In order for the Bride and Groom to be official, they must have at least two witnesses. It will be yours and the Maid of Honor’s responsibility to sign the marriage license, but don’t worry – this is the only boring bit, we promise!

GIVE THE FIRST SPEECH
Known famously worldwide for being the most iconic role of a Best Man, is to give the first speech during the wedding reception. Everyone will be looking to you to introduce the Bride and Groom and to say a few words about the happy couple - no pressure! Whether you choose to be sincere or silly, make it a speech to remember.
